What to do about zits that won't go away on the face of a 50+ yo guy?

Note: this question is about annoyance, not a critical health care concern.

I have a few on my cheek, in particular, that haven’t gone away in weeks. They don’t get a lot better, and they don’t get a lot worse. Red bump that comes to a head, weeps, closes up, repeat.

I’m also having some sort of persistent bumps/blisters/hives under the hair on my head, and a particularly nasty one on the inside of my nostril. The one in my nose is finally going away, but was so bad that it made the skin on the outside of my nose peel.

I wonder if it’s not a mild form of shingles, as it’s not the first time this has happened. Well, the nose and hair hives/blisters are reoccurring, not so much the zits from hell. I found pictures of shingles that could look similar, but from what I understand even shingles heal, and hurt.

I’ve tried washing, rubbing alcohol, and not shaving for a few days, and zits persist.

I don’t have health care.
