I did. I liked it. It wasn’t fantastic, but it held its own for what it was.
If you see it, though, stay all the way through to the end of the credits.

I saw it this afternoon, and while I enjoyed the first half quite a bit, I thought the last 30 or 40 minutes turned into a mind numbing bore. The humor got increasingly obnoxious, and Cavill’s performance as Superman was really laughable in my opinion. Glad you liked it though

@rockfan I hate Cavill as Superman too. And I agree with you completely on your criticisms. But I’m a DC guy so this movie would really have to suck eggs for me not to like it. My opinion is definitely not objective. But Avengers and Wonder Woman it was not. It was marginally better than Batman vs. Superman, mostly because Cavill was in it less.

Fortunately I think we’ll be seeing a new actor playing Superman pretty soon..

@rockfan Really? This is the first I’ve heard of it.

Trusted reviewers attest that it is a turd, only marginally less smelly than the previous ones.
Not wasting money or time on that one.

@ragingloli Honestly knowing what I’ve known of you over the last 10 years I can categorically say that you’d hate it.

@Rarebear

The box office for JL should have been the highest of any DCEU film, but it’s the lowest, which is a really bad sign for Man of Steel 2 and the upcoming Aquaman. There’s a good chance that WB will scrap the universe and start over. But they’ll finish the Wonder Woman trilogy first.

Oh and Ben Affleck is officially leaving as Batman

Rarebear's avatar

I’m one of the few people I know who like Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman. Certainly nothing like Gal Gadot’s portrayal of WW, but I liked him, (I could watch Gadot read a phone book for an hour)

@Rarebear
You have no Idea.
I had to turn off BvS during the opening “I’m Batman, my parents are dead” scene.
I just can not take this shit.

Rarebear's avatar

@ragingloli Agree. I was like, “No. Please. Not another Batman origin story.”

I did like the story, though, in that it was somewhat (VERY) loosely based upon the Death of Superman comic book story which I own and have a fondness for. It was this story arc that got me back into comic books.
