Save up another $300 and get yourself a Macbook. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Wow, every time I go to the Dell website I end up flummoxed. It looks like the Vostro notebooks are better than the Inspiron notebooks in terms of value... I'm not sure why the notebooks under "small business" seem better values than the notebooks under "home office" ... it will take more research to find out what the best value is. Just in case nobody here can answer your question properly, here's a link to a Dell-specific laptop forum: http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

And here's a link to Dell's own forums. I can't tell where you would ask a question about a notebook! http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/

Why is the Dell product line so confusing? Even calling it a product "line" seems too generous.

personally, I have really been a fan of the inspirons, as they dont need to be babyed wherever you go.

Make sure that you get the warranty on it though...

As far as the models go, it really is up to your personal preference as they are all pretty much the same. Just try to stay away from the celeron processors and you will be good.
