Are the country gospel singer trio The Gatlin Brothers the same three guys as The Gatlin Boys in the Kenny Rogers song "Coward of the County"?

Those Gatlin Brothers are a bad bunch. When they’re not singing Country or gospel they are generally whooping it up and causing mayhem. It is no coincidence that their favourite choice of weapon is known as the “Gatlin gun”. It was these brothers you will remember who after attending an eight hour long prayer meeting called on poor Becky and treated her like the scum they are. They thoroughly deserved the beating that followed.

I love that song, but no, must be the other side of the family tree. Plus, pretty sure the are dead now, the bad ones.

Too bad Becky didnt arm herself and kill them first.

When I googled “Coward of the County,” the Wikipedia article says they’re not the same.

It’s actually a veiled invective against two men – Cosmo Kramer and Jerome Seinfield, who once ruined a lucrative business location in New York City for Mr. Rogers’ chicken franchise operation.

@jca2 I think he’s just being silly.

@Darth Funny.

Yeah, but, is it just coincidence, their name was Gatlin, and “there was three of them.”
