florida has more stuff to do. Better beaches, Disney, Universal, cheap cruises, etc. Better climate. Think about it its where many people retire to for a reason.

North Carolina - because soon most of Florida will be underwater.

North Carolina. Because
1 The Outer Banks - best beaches in the US
2 The mountains - Ashville, the Blue Ridge parkway Applachia at its best
3 Four seasons - but even in Winter we get days of 65%u2022 and very little snow
4 Smaller cities but with great nightlife and amenities
5 Cheaper housing that hasn't been affected drastically by the bubble
6 High tech jobs in RTP area, banking in Charlotte
7 Fewer hurricanes
8 Great universities Duke, UNC Chapel Hill Campbell etc
9 8 hours drive to NY; 8 hours drive to Orlando; 8 hours flight to London
10 I moved to Raleigh NC after living in DC London and Singapore and don't want to live anywhere else anytime soon.

north Carolina sounds cool, how's the mountain biking and kite surfing?

erinford's avatar

Hawaiiguy - loads of trails in NC from the beaches to the mountains and in between. Check out trails.com for details. As for kite surfing, Dimitri Maramenidis lives and trains at Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks. 'Nuff said? Check out Kitty Hawk Kites for more.

The mountains around Asheville are the coolest place to live in the country. Half of Florida already knows this tho, & is moving or has moved there. The only bad thing is that it can rain a lot & be very damp
