Canterbury tales project help?

Asked by FiRE_MaN (684points) November 30th, 2008

i have to research a pilgrim from the canterbury tales( I have to do the pardoner >_> ). The first thing i have to do is make 30 – 50 note cards with information about my pilgrim and this is what my english teacher said we have to do first.

Using the prologue description as a springboard, you will research the social, polotical, and historical context of one of the Chaucer’s pilgrims. [mines the pardoner] You will compile this research into neat, legible, fully documented note cards (30 – 50) (citations must accompany every note) from which you will later teach this information to the rest of the class in a presentation of at least 15 – 20 minutes’ duration.

so my question is are there any good books, or credible websites, that i could use to do this? I read the prologue and have gotten 3 cards from that >___< . they are not the greatest facts in my opinion so if you know some that are in the prologue feel free to say them!

this is the book i have.

here’s a radical idea…read the book

First: read the Pardoner’s tale. And probably the rest of the tales as well.

I don’t have any sources for you, but look for the origins of the tale. Chaucer didn’t make all his stuff up; he borrowed his tales from other sources. See if the pardoner’s tale was told somewhere else first.
The characters in the tale are from a low social class. You can go a few places with that.

Yep. Read more than just the prologue. The whole point of this exercise is to demonstrate you understand the material and there’s no shortcut to that.

….....i DID read it but i see how in my question it suggests that i did not. what i meant when i said i read the prologue was that i read it again.
