Which Office do you like better? (The TV Show)?

Asked by joeysefika (3098points) December 7th, 2008

Inspired from an earlier question, The English version or the American Version. I prefer the English version, Ricky Gervais is so painful to watch its just hilarious.

Ricky Gervais is a genius.

But, I still like the American one better.

I prefer the American one and concur with simone that Rick Gervais is a genius.

i prefer the english as well, the american one is like watching an american takeshi’s castle…you can port the idea, not the feeling…

The original british version is always better. While i admit we did a pretty good job with the office we should really stop trying to copy their shows.Anyone remember the american coupling?

Also Ricky Gervais is a genius :)

I’ve heard that you can only like one of the two, but I think I like both. There’s golden humour in both the television shows.

I think most people have an issue with the American one because there will always be the British one that did it first. And for some reason, if you do it first, you’re better than whatever comes after. Which doesn’t quite make sense.

Why can’t we all just get along?

The british. I find gervais’ awkwardness much more authentic than carell’s more slapstick approach.

I like the American version better because I know Pennsylvania really well and I LOVE Jim and Pam.

The British one. Don’t like the American version at all.

I also want to add how the American version is four seasons strong. The British only had one (or maybe it was two).

The UK version was two series and two Christmas specials. Because the creators decided to end it, which is often why British shows end. Unlike American ones which go on far longer than they ought to because instead of ending when it’s sensible to end, the people in charge go on and on and on until they’re canceled and told that they HAVE to stop.

Yeah usually, but this has been pretty consistently funny.
