Can I exchange my AT&T Quickfire for one of a different color?

Even if I go ahead and put my sim card in it and use it for a few days before I get into town?

Most likely yes, especially if you already signed up for a lengthy contract, you should be able to go in (take your sim card out of old phone) get different phone & pop your sim card in & be on your way. Make sure you have anything that went with the phone with you, in case they want it back to repackage.
