What is the best service to buy a domain name? Godaddy seems expensive and the product experience sucks.

All domain registrars suck. I’ve been using namecheap.com, and it’s about the best experience I’ve found so far.

Godaddy is one of the worst. 411 Domains is another bad one.

An available dot com domain name should not cost more than $12USD.

Personally I use A2Hosting.com because they are my hosting company. I’ve been satisfied with my experience there.

I use namecheap and haven’t anything to complain about.

Add 1and1.com to you list of registrars to stay away from! I’ve never used dreamhost as a registrar, but they sucked as I host when I tried it a few years back. I’d stay away from them, too.

Have to put a big loud “no” vote for Dreamhost, based on a lot of testimonies I’ve read over the years.

@dynamicduo

You don’t recommend Dreamhost?
But it seems the best hosting service that supports Python I’ve found so far.

…yes, that’s what I said. I’ve never used them personally but still, I don’t recommend them.

I hope that wasn’t directed at me, cause I don’t know why you’d think I’d know this. Do research.

If I ever land on a heap of cash, I’m going to launch a really badass domain registrar.
