Why isn't my computer working?

Asked by krazeeniquee (5points) November 12th, 2007

I have a windows vista. It is only a few months old, but all of a sudden it stopped working properly. The clock and calender that usually appears at the side of the screen doesn’t work and any kind of javascript pop up windows don’t work anymore. This includes videos and downloads.
One site i went on said that I had javascript turned off but i checked and it is on. Another site told me to download the newest flash player, but the pop up window for the download didn’t come up. It was working perfectly two days ago but now it is messed up. what’s wrong?

i have a feeling that you are computer maybe infected by spyware. The first thing you should do is switch to the firefox browser. Then get some freeware anti-spyware tools to run a scan like Spybot, AdAware SE to run a full sysytem scan jsut to make sure you have no spyware.

If all else fails, you could try running VIsta’s :system restore tool and it should be able to restore vista to its last working setting.

it never hurts to reboot your operating system, just make sure that you’ve backed up any files you want saved. I second the Firefox idea, and if you’re looking for good anti-virus, I use AVG free edition which is easy to download, and updates itself so you don’t have to worry about it.
