Maybe Acorn? It and Picturesque (another editing app) are available through the Macheist bundle now.

I’ve used them both. They’re very good

Seashore and Gimp are free open source options. There is also GraphicConverter for $35.00.

Gimp’s about as close to photoshop as you’re going to get, but it needs to be run through X11, making it a RAM hog. Seashore is a great app, just not developed anymore.

And of course you can always get the photoshop trial for….was it 30 days?

+1 for “The Gimp”

Photoshop works on Mac. Gimp is doable and you can really do almost everything you can do on Photoshop but it’s a bit more complicated and takes awhile to figure out.

P.S. Stay away from APERTURE! It was a TERRIBLE program.

Oh and a program called “GimpShop” is something you might want to check out. It is Gimp , but setup to make users of Photoshop feel more at home. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17629
