Is there a way to linksys pci adapter into a wifi router?

my desktop is connected to the internet via ethernet. i also have a linksys wifi receiver, but not using it. can i route the internet from the ethernet to the linksys wifi receiver to transmit the signal… thus turning it into a wifi router

It’s a reciever, not a transmitter, so no.

@eambos All WiFi adaptors can transmit and receive otherwise they would not work.

@thedonja Yes you can do this, there are many way to do it. In Windows there is a system built in called internet connection sharing which does roughly what you want. It’s not perfect but itis fine for browsing the internet.

You can just enable routing in Windows but it get’s a bit more technical.

Or you could just buy a WiFi router which is probably the simplest and most flexible solution.
