What should I wear to a speech?

Asked by toomuchcoffee911 (6928points) May 10th, 2009

I have to make a 5 minute speech and I’m being graded on what I wear. The speech is on gay rights. What should I wear?

I believe to know you’re a girl, but it would certainly help to state that again.

Rule of thumb: The more controversial the topic, the more conservative the outfit. Two piece business dark is always a winner.

I am a girl; not too sure what you’re taking about in your second answer… but thanks for the first one.

I usually just do dress pants and a long sleeve button down. You can keep it simple or dress it up with accessories. Just make sure everything is wrinkle free and you’re good to go. Also, pointy toe shoes are always a winner!

I agree with the first answer. Depending on where this is to take place, a nice pant suit or skirt and blazer would most likely be appropriate.

If a college classroom, more casual is OK.
