Is the power strip it’s in dead? Try another device in that outlet.

try taking out the battery wait like 5 seconds and put it back in

Lothloriengaladriel's avatar

It’s not that because the monitor turns on for a second then turns black

Did you try another outlet?

And i assume it USED to work? How long have you had it that it worked?

Lothloriengaladriel's avatar

Yes this just happened 10 minutes ago had it 2 years

IMHO, your monitor needs repair. If it’s any consolation, so does my Viewsonic.

Did you Google your problem? I have, and found a lot had my problem. Some fixed it themselves and gave instructions. I’m not the electronic repair type so it couldn’t help me.

Lothloriengaladriel's avatar

Not really any help at all, my friend is on the phone with technical support now

Just to clarify. The computer was running, it randomly shut off, and now when you try to turn it back on, it begins to start up but then just quits?

SirBailey's avatar

Its a monitor! Not a computer

Lothloriengaladriel's avatar

@Ivan yes and it was only the monitor that turned off not computer

Try reconnecting the power cable at the back of the monitor.
Acers are notorious for having a loose power connection at the back. The connection gets loose and then you lose power.

My work uses Acer monitors and it is a frequent problem.

Oh, gotcha. I didn’t bother to check the model number and assumed it was a laptop. When you try to turn it on, does it shut completely off, or does it say that there’s no signal?
