How can I make images easier to use in Drupal for my users?

I like Drupal, but I’m a web developer so I understand that I’m highly biased when it comes to dealing with the technical nuances of the CMS.

Yet, my problem is that adding images to a post in Drupal is far more cumbersome than most blogs or full-blown CMS products.

What modules or tweaks can I implement to make image usage for my Drupal users a no-brainer?
