How can I solve this problem with my "friend" without only apologizing? I said I couldn't talk to him anymore and I realized I can't stand not talking to him.

quite a pickle there Tink, the only thing i can think of is giving each-other some space and time to digest everything. If he doesn’t feel the same way but still values you as a friend he’ll come around eventually. Just don’t think you can just come back the next day and apologize and that everything will be fine. After something like that you both will need some time to heal.
Just be patient and let things take run their course.
