How is Netflix doing with Blu-Ray demand?

Asked by jeffpetersen (194points) July 28th, 2009

I’m already a customer, with a 3 at a time plan. I’m considering changing to 2 at a time with the Blu-Ray option for the same cost. I have read horror stories about long waits for Blu-Ray movies, and I’m wondering if they have increased their buys (with the higher prices) and are meeting the demand. What are your experiences?

The Consumerist had an article about this recently, I will try to find it when I get home. There is some evidence to suggest the bluray discs crack in the mail more easily, which may be partly responsible for delays.

Thanks, I found the post here. Looks like the discs are a bit less tolerant of rough handling in the postal system. However, it really doesn’t address the issue of the Blu-Ray discs being delivered in a timely manner the way DVDs are.
