Does anybody want to join me in celebrating Singapore's National Day today?

Today, the 9 August, marks Singapore’s 44th birthday. This tiny island I live on is a marvelous place and I’d just like to share a live webcast they’re having of the National Day Parade. It’s only just started as of right now and you can see it here. Of course since right now’s an ungodly hour for many Flutherites I doubt that this video will be seen by many but I’d just like to broaden the horizons of the collective in including this tiny island into the minds of all. I’m open to questions on Singapore if anyone’s curious (for a start, if you don’t know what the heck Singapore is or where it is, it’s a tiny island country located in South East Asia [see map for reference]).

I’m gonna hear the fireworks where I live, and will probably take a look on television, after which I’ll see the premiere of Singapore Idol, one of the true comedies of my country
