This Saturday, or next Saturday?

Asked by Trance24 (3311points) January 14th, 2008

If I were to say to you “this Saturday” and we are in the week of the 13th-19th, and next week is the 20th-26th. Would you think I’m referring to Saturday the 19th or Saturday the 26th?

to clear something up for everyone this was an argument between me and trance. she said we were going to the aquarium next Saturday. i believe she was talking about the 19th while she says that next Saturday would be the 26th.

I’d say just go read the posts on the other question, It’s been hashed out pretty well over there.

Basically it varies, by where you are and who says it. Best thing to do is just ask people to clarify. (or try to phase in the term “week” as in “saturday week” meaning the saturday a week from now as seq said)
