Need forum software recommendations?

Asked by boettiger (123points) September 7th, 2009

I am looking for web-based forum recommendations (aka PHPbb, vBulletin, etc.) for a forum solution that has an upvote/downvote feature where if a particular response was useful or not it could be upvoted/downvoted by community members. Any suggestions? Open Source would be great, but am also looking at fee-based options.

Vanilla is a fairly new (free) platform. I don’t think it has the upvote/downvote feature built in but it does have thousands of plug-ins available. The interface is amazing, simple and straight forward. I suggest you try it out.
