Will this RGB to HDMI Converter work with my laptop and TV?

Asked by bklynchica (1points) September 8th, 2009

Trying to sort through the confusion of laptop to TV connections. I want to hook up my laptop to my TV so I can watch streaming videos, but I want higher quality than S-Video which I hear sucks. Here are the specs for my laptop:
Ports:
Video:
-RGB (monitor) output port
-S-Video output port

Audio:
-S/P DIF output port (shared with headphone port)
-Microphone input port
-Headphone output port

Here are the specs for the converter:

Am I correct that this will entail connecting RGB and audio wires from my laptop to the converter, and then an HDMI cord from the other end of the converter to the TV (TV has an HDMI port)?

should, but you have to remember to switch your audio settings to the digital output every time you want to use the TV. I do it with my hdtv and HDMI to HDMI cable all the time.
