I have tried them. They are interesting and expensive.

Helps with the oral fixation, and the smoke they produce ads to the illusion. No question it will help you cut down.

For me I felt gypped, not feeling that lung filled with smoke feeling. Made me want a real cig.

As far as safe? Safe then a real cigarette.

@ChazMaz ~ There seems to be a lot of variation in how happy people are with e cigs depending on the brand they buy. There are a number of really good brands (Totally Wicked, Luci, Joyetech, Green Smoke) that get great reviews and people seem to be really happy with them. There are others, like the one-offs you can get kiosks and non-specialty providers like Amazon, Walmart and so on that are just not good quality and don’t perform well.

A good brand is not expensive in the long run. Even though you put out a bit of an initial investment for a starter kit ($59 – $100) you should save a lot of money in the long run because the cartridges are much cheaper than cigarettes. Good companies provide coupons and free shipping deals that help save you money.

With the Luci disposables I mention above, your initial outlay is $10—$12 for a high quality product that can give you a good trial period without much investment at all.
