What kind of pillow & blanket, if any, should my toddler be sleeping with?

Asked by marauder76 (390points) October 26th, 2009

I’m wanting to know more from parents of toddlers between 18–24 months of age what type of bedding they use in their kids’ cribs. Should a child in this age range have any kind of pillow at all? A light or heavy blanket? Does anyone actually use a top sheet with a child of this age? We fold up a thin quilt which our daughter uses as a pillow, and also give her one small blanket, but she frequently rests her head on a stuffed animal, which leads me to believe that she may be ready for a thicker pillow. Any feedback from personal experience, or citations to expert guidelines, would be appreciated. Thank you.
