Figure out the name of this song?

Asked by asawilliams (368points) November 30th, 2009

I am trying to figure out the name of these two songs. I was just listening to a classical song NPR and realized it is the beginning of a pretty good techno-ish song from a couple years back. The only other information I have is what the DJ said about the classical piece. He said that it is mostly well known for being a puzzle. What two songs are these?

By song, do you mean an instrumental or vocal piece. What are (or is) the instrument(s)?

Can you narrow down the period? Baroque, classical, romantic, impressionist, modern, etc?

You could also call your local NPR station and ask. Or go online and check the schedule and time; often the play list will be available.

Does your public radio station post it’s traffic log on their web site? Ours does. You can go on and look up pieces by time played.

Or, call the station and ask them. And while you’re on the phone, make a donation.

This question reminded me that I had heard a lovely trumpet concerto on my NPR this afternoon and noticed it was 2:25. Going to the station’s site, I found the playlist and discovered it was the third movement of Haydn’s Horn Concerto in E flat. Thanks for the trigger.

Whenever I hear a song on the radio that I can’t identify, I go to yes.com. You can type in the call letters and search the song log.
