Is there a way to make a default roaming profile using Server 2008 on a 2003 domain?

Asked by mowens (8403points) December 2nd, 2009

This domain uses roaming profiles for these specific users. I want to have files in the profile of every profile created. On a regular machine, I would put it in the All users directory. I can’t do that here because it is a roaming profile. Thoughts?

Not too familiar with how roaming profiles look, but I would suggest asking this question on Super User. If you don’t want to go through making an account, I’ll ask it for you and provide you with the answers.

That is the coolest website ever. I asked ehre, because I was ignored everywhere else. :)

There’s also Server Fault (servers), DocType (web design), and Stack Overflow (coding).

How about GPO login scripts to move copy the files over?

That is actually what I ended up doing. THe problem I have run into now, is a GP is blocking use of folders on the desktop… and I have no idea which one it is. :)

Are the folders getting copied?

I ended up doing folder redirection.
