How do I fix my social anxiety issues?

I haven’t gone out for drinks in months and one of my girl friends called me up yesterday asking me if I’d be interested in going out with her tonight. I agreed (only because I’ve blown her off a few time recently and I felt bad) and now I’m sitting her regretting it. I’m getting anxious, my stomach is turning, I feel overwhelmed, I’m suddenly tired and depressed, and I’m desperately looking for a reason to back out of my plans. And this isn’t the first time it’s happened. It always starts off sounding like a good idea, but when it comes down to a few hours before my plans, I freak out. What is going on with me?! I should want to get out of the house once in awhile and have fun with my friends. But I find that I’d rather stay home and spend time alone or with my fiancĂ©. Why am I so boring? Can I fix my issues? Or should I accept that I’m just not that fun of a person?
