Is it smart to buy a refurbished iPod nano from Apple?

Asked by Gruz06 (811points) December 6th, 2009

I need a new iPod, my old one is running out of storage, and I was thinking about purchasing one from Apple’s online store. Specifically, this one. However, I’m hesitant because it is refurbished. Has anyone bought a refurbished iPod through Apple before? Was it in good shape?

I bought a refurb Airport Extreme, and have had no issues. I don’t know if that helps.

I buy all my stuff from the refurbished store. And I buy a lot of shit. It is all fantastic. Same warranty and everything looks new.

Apple refurbished products are great and have the same warranty as the new ones. They always look brand new. You’re not going to get one with fingerprints all over it or anything.

Sure, it has no moving parts and a 1-year warranty.

I think they actually make a bunch of extra cases for the refurbished stuff. Seriously, everything always looks new. Apple is anal.

I have not yet purchased my refurb iPod Touch through Apple yet, but I am hesitating because of lack of funds, not because of lack of faith.

Unless you need the most up-to-date item, refurb is your friend, especially because of the price difference. The items are tested and should be free of defects.
