Fluther Parents. Will you share your bedtime rituals?

I have a four year old son and a seven year old daughter.
My son’s favorite bedtime song is “Goodnight Sweetheart” by Sha Na Na and my daughter’s is a version of rock a bye baby we made up just for her.

For my son though we do this thing called “smoke signals”. This is where he lays down in bed and we drape his little 4×4 blanket over him several times like we are making smoke signals over a fire. You know kinda like the parachute game back in grade school. For some reason this just relaxes him and nearly every time puts him in a state ready for sleep.

We read to both and most of the time my daughter and I have a couple of books going. One she reads to me and another I read to her.

I was just curious what other parents do for their kids at bedtime.
