Wikipedia knows everything.
Apparently, thirteen episodes in the main series, plus five games outside it. So, eighteen.

I remember Mystic Quest. I’m sure I wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun with that game if I had the same standards back then as I have now.

@Fyrius I heard there in the works of the 14th for another MMO. Can’t remember where I read that though. Final Fantasy will always be around.

Shouldn’t all but the final Final Fantasy be called some kind of playoff? Wild-Card Fantasy, Sweet-16 Fantasy, Quarterfinal Fantasy, Semifinal Fantasy… and like that?

lungsday's avatar

Yeah because that makes sense in building a franchise, changing it’s name :)

@Axemusica I really really hope that’s true.

@CyanoticWasp What. No. Go away. Hmph.

@rangerr—lol—is one of those your Final Answer?

@Axemusica Yes the 14th FF is going to be released in 2010 at some time. It has all the same races and jobs probably, but they just changed names and crap lol. I bet people that spent a lot of time on 11 are pretty pissed.

@Blackberry I knew I wasn’t hallucinating, lol. I played 11 for over a year before giving up on it. I had a 73sam/war or ninja or thf (what ever the party prefered) & all the gil farming going on at that time made it impossible to get that full set of gear at that lvl without farming yourself. After spending a couple months farming only to be able to afford a new GK that wasn’t even that great I quit. So I probably won’t be playing 14. I think I’m done with MMO’s.

@Axemusica I stopped playing a long time ago for the same reason as well as others. I was a 75 MNK/SAM with a buncha subjobs. I was a little more hardcore, doing events like sky and sea and salvage, and even though I miss it, it’s just not worth it. The gilsellers really ruined it for all of us. It sure was fun though…...

@Blackberry ohh for sure. I still talk to some friends I made while playing the game. Though the reason I quit was because it wasn’t fun anymore. It was more like a job than a game. I had to farm religiously just to get gear so I could go to sky and farm 3 hour fights. No thnx, lol. Although, I loved being a Sam. I loved how I could start the chain and finish it in the same chain. I was quite upset when they nurfed meditate, because I was one of the Sam’s that was a huge DD with penta thrust. So, I had to recreate my game plan after that, lol.

@Axemusica Ahh nice, I was skilling up Polearm before I quit, I remember Sams doing awesome damage at the colibri camps lol. Good times….the sad part about me quitting is that I quit a month or so after I got my Black Belt lol….it was fun while I had it though : (

Only sissies quit games before they finish.

@rangerr silly little girl ;P MMO’s aren’t the same as games where that statement would be acceptable. Did you know that FFXI was rated the number 1 most hardcore MMO of all time? Wanna know why? In one of the newer expansions read this from a gameinformer magazine one time there’s a end game battle that took nearly 40 people 17hours to beat. That’s not gaming anymore, lol.

@Blackberry nice. I always loved Mnks in my group. Probably the only class that could keep up with sams. Everytime I had a good mnk in my party we’d be chaining like crazy. Some people actually got upset sometimes blm, haha cuz they couldn’t keep up.

@Axemusica Did you know that I was Rikku for Halloween the year that I went to Comic Con. because of my obsession with that game? I’ve locked myself in my room for days playing. .......and I’m not a little girl.

Axemusica's avatar

@rangerr you’re little compared to me, I can guarantee that ;P haha. Playing MMO’s like that is not healthy IMHO and that’s why after FFXI, WoW and LoTRO I’m probably not going to play another MMO again. Though, if I did date a girl as attractive as you that played like that it might draw me back in, but I would be very resistant, lol.

rangerr's avatar

@Axemusica Unhealthy. Pssshhh.
Attractive girl? Whaaa? Creep.~

Axemusica's avatar

creep like a fox!

haha, that doesn’t make any sense. ;)

Does this really matter? The only ones that matter – 8, 9, 4, Tactics :) dont fall into the fanboy hype of 7!

Axemusica's avatar

@JesusWasAJewbot I believe the best ones were 2 and 3. Yea, I’m old school like that :P

@Axemusica Been catching up on the older ones through the DS re-releases, enjoying them. 3 and 4 were good.
