At what points in history would you say mankind should be justifiably proud of itself?

Yeah we are making a shitty job of preserving the planet & for that we are regularly chastised.Global warming, fuel emissions space junk & the rest of our well publicised foibles.However mankind has many reasons to be proud of what we have achieved. Advances in medicine many discoveries & inventions for the betterment of our & future generations.What is something that you feel is worthy of acclaim in our recent accomplishments?
