What should I do with my life?

I never attended college. I couldn’t ever afford it and my parents couldn’t help finanially at all either. I moved out right after high school graduation and I’ve been on my own ever since. I now live with my fiancé and am working part time. I’m getting married in 3 months and I’m feeling a little lost. I’m very happy to start married life of course. But I want to have my own career also.

I’m unsure of what I want to do as far as a career goes. So I thought maybe my fellow fluther friends might be able to suggest a few things. I really enjoy planning and organzing. Whether it’s something big (a wedding), a vacation, or a small dinner. I am very creative and always have new ideas. I don’t mind paperwork. I can be left in charge and handle stress well. I also love writing, and I’m especially good at poetry (although I see no future in that). I also love being my own boss (but who doesn’t).

Some things I dislike…math. Basic math is fine. But I would never do anything that was centered around it. Also, kids. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids. But I worked in a daycare for years and I’d rather not be surrounded by 15 screaming, green boogered, throwing up, pooping their pants, kids again. So I guess that means no teaching for me.

Based on my likes and dislikes, what kind of career should I check into. I’m willing to go back to school for a few years. I just need some direction in my life. Any advice?
