Why is my contact not in my contact list of my htc hero after I edited this contact?

Asked by mtrom92 (1points) May 29th, 2010

I just got my HTC hero yesterday and I thought I would start adding pictures to my contacts, linking them to facebook, adding birthdays, etc. After editing to of my contacts I realized they are no longer in the my contact list under the default app “People”. Now I can find these two contacts if I make a call and start typing there name but I would still like to be able to have them be in my contact list. Is there a way I can fix this without having to re-add them as a contact?

I don’t have an htc, but I have a droid phone, so I’ll give you my suggestion. It’s likely you need to re setup your contact list by first logging into your facebook account, to tell the phone that you want that information to become part of the information received by your phone. Then you need to link up your contacts with Facebooks as well. If you have a syncing process used by your phone, that should get them all there in your list. If you’ve edited them, without allowing the available Facebook information associated with each contact to exist on your phone, that’s likely created a compatibility issue. So, you have to link to your Facebook account, using your phone’s contact card, and then when the link button comes up on your phone, choose which friends you want to have available as contacts to your phone.

If you are only having problems with one or two friends’ contact information after editing it on your phone, you should be able to find their information, as you mentioned, so that you can link them correctly to their facebook accounts as they were before you edited them. I’d try to get to the friend’s contact details screen and find the updates option and link it from there, and you should be able to choose an option to allow your friend’s Facebook avatars/photos to serve as their contact IDs on your phone. Same goes with birthday information. Again, though, if you have these people as contacts via Facebook, and you edit that information, this is what’s likely causing those same contacts to seem to “disappear” from your phone’s people list.
