Why is my camera on my Motorola Rival not opening up?

Every time i try to take a picture with my Motorola rival it says “camera initializing” and then “unable to open camera” and then comes back to the home screen.. Any ideas to how to fix this?

I did the the hard reset, and just my luck I lost EVERYTHING and my camera still doesn’t work! What a waste!

Could be flat batteries or something jamming the lense. Could also be that you dropped the camera and part of the telescopic lense has moved off its hinge. Take it to a Camera shop, they will tell you upfront but getting it fixed might cost you more than buying a new one.
