Do I have pelvic inflammatory disease?

I plan to call my doctor monday morning but I’m just curious if these symptoms sound like pelvic inflammatory disease (or anything else). Every so often I experience mild to moderate pain in my lower abdomen and lower back. It’s a dull ache, almost like the beginning of a menstrual cycle, but I can feel the difference between the two. This pain isn’t the same as cramps from my period. Also, having sex is sometimes painful. I’m also experiencing more discharge than usual. Could this be PID? If so, how likely is it that my reproductive health will be compromised?

Again, I am seeing a doctor asap. This is just a discussion to find out further information about PID and get some opinions. Thanks!

Edit: Less than 6 months ago I had a gyno exam. Shouldn’t the doctor have caught something if it was wrong? Are there tests for pelvic inflammatory disease?
