Paranormal/ Creepy events or books. Do you have any stories or suggestions?

Asked by tamkli3 (275points) September 4th, 2010

Has anything paranormal ever happened to you in your life: Have you ever seen a ghost, seen something move without you touching it, felt some kind of weird vibe around you….

OR

Have you read some really good books about paranomal things, or even about extraterrestrial events. Even things about people tomb-raiding things in Egypt/ Asia/ old temples/ caves which held unusual events… etc…

I like hearing about stories that creep me out. The only things that I do NOT like hearing about is possessions of devil and etc…

If you can, please let me know about some books that you might’ve come across that aren’t extremely sadistic/ demonic.

Thanks!

I think I can top that one. :)

A large archive of all the classical interweb ghost stories and a lot of less reposted ones too, sorted by genre. Pick any flavour of fright you prefer.

I first got hooked on creepypasta by the Holders series.

@Fyrius, that’s the link I was looking for, but couldn’t find for some reason, despite the obvious URL… Many of the creepypastas are very good, but some of them are absolutely terrible. I wasn’t ever much of a fan of the Holders series, because I thought the formula they followed was kind of cliche’, but I love the uber short creepypastas like this one:

Don’t look behind you. They don’t like to be seen.

I’m also a big fan of the tv based ones, like Dead Bart, and Squidward’s Suicide.

There’s also this one:

“Daddy, I had a bad dream.”

You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darkness — it’s 3:23. “Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?”

“No, Daddy.”

The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter’s pale form in the darkness of your room. “Why not, sweetie?”

“Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy’s skin sat up.”

For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can’t take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you begin to shift.

My friend just told me that she sees ghosts and they are always around her. She told me not to tell anyone else in school cause she’s scared that they will stop hanging out with her.

@Thesexier I’d totally hang out with her.

Me too, but I’m a ghost.
