Can you help me find a fitting web Content Management System?
What is important is
that it separates design from content,
that it stores the content in a relational database (mysql preferred), that it can manage multiple websites
that it supports multilingual websites
and most importantly, that it does not restrict me in template design, e.g. I do not want to be stuck with premade structures like this, but I want to be able to make things like this.
dear top gear fluther, can you help?

@NerdRageIT is right on with Joomla. It has MySQL and is written in PHP.
Another would be Drupal (both MySQL and PHP)
Here is a list from wikipedia, but Joomla and Drupal are probably your best options. They both have been around awhile, have established developer communities, and use i18n for multilingual capabilities. I’ve used Plone a little, but it doesn’t use MySQL and is an object oriented DB.
silverstripe is more advanced than drupal and joomla.
is more ergonomic friendly
I’ve been under the impression that Wordpress is primarily for blogging. For those who have used it, is this the case? (I haven’t really looked into it myself.)
You can definitely use it as a site engine/CMS as well.
See the this link for 20 promising open source content management systems with details about each on of them.
