My brother dropped his iPod into the toilet, any ideas on how to get the water out?

He heard that putting it into a bag of rice and putting that into the oven would pull the moisture out, but it didn’t do much.
Any ideas on what he could do? He doesn’t want to buy a new one if at all possible.
