Would I harm my temperpedic like foam mattress topper by using an electric mattress pad?

We keep the heat very low at night so I have used a electric mattress pad for many winters. Last spring we got a foam mattress topper. Now that it is cold out, I am freezing again and would like to use the electric mattress pad again. I don’t want to give up the topper cuz my mattress isn’t comfortable. I understand I won’t get the full effect of the topper. I just want to know if the heat will harm the foam topper.
