What do sex thoughts mean?

Apparently sex dreams are not about sex, but about working out other issues in your subconscious.

What about when you’re awake? Is it possible to have sexual thoughts about a person that aren’t, really, about your sexual interest in them? Could those thoughts really be about something else, something non-sexual?
