Sorry, one more essay related question: When using word and Block quoting a context, is it proper to take out the spacing in the quote so it doesn't take up as much room?

I can’t find the answer anywhere, so again, I’m writing something down and it just doesn’t look right. The block quote looks bigger than it should. My essay calls for double spacing, so should I leave it double spaced? Should I take out the spacing in the page layout section where it says spacing: after? It just looks weird. Maybe its because of the font I am currently using (New Roman). Then again, it would look bigger with my usual font (New Courier). I could just leave it, and ignore my urge to fix things in my own writing.
