Should Bob Marley be honored?

I have to do a persuasive essay about a person in history that I feel should be honored for their contributions to mankind. And I was wondering if you all felt that Bob Marley should be honored? Just in your opinion.

Also, did Bob Marley ever win any awards or anything of that sort?
