Has anyone here used a 1920x1080 laptop resolution (on a 15-inch or smaller)?

I may be getting a laptop with a 15.6” display and 1920×1080 resolution. I’ve been hearing some things about how large this resolution is and how it makes things hard to read on the screen. I’m just asking if anyone has had any personal experience with this large resolution and if they find they need to zoom in on things and increase font sizes. I’d really rather not have to do that, so that is why I may consider a different laptop with a different resolution.

What I really need to do is see this resolution in person, but I have no idea how. I don’t know anyone with a laptop with this resolution and all the sample laptops at electronics stores always come with the default low-resolution screens.
