How to write an analysis essay? (English)

Ok so am coming to you guys with an essay question again as last time. This is due on Wednesday and I want to finish it today.
So this is what the teacher sent me because I didn’t know what to do…

1.Write and analysis and interpretation of “Popular Mechanics” by Raymond Carver. Make sure to comment on:
-the main characters
-the setting
-the themes
-the style

2. Analyse the painting by Michael Kvium that you will find uploaded for Tuesday.
In the description focus on
a) the relationship between the characters (distance, contact, etc)
b) how the characters look
c) what is the story the painting is telling?

3) Conclusion

In a brief conclusion try to relate your analysis to the short story and consider to what extent the painting illustrates the themes of the story.

I just read the story again and I know what in the end the baby dies.
But I don’t know where to start. If you are one of those who helped me with my History essay when I asked a question about how to write it last Thursday, just to let you know for that essay I wrote Introduction, body and conclusion.
Am I supposed to do the same for this as well?
