How to save a mink teddy bear?

I don’t think I would ever wear mink clothing, but I want to keep an old granny’s boa. (Maybe some day I will make a teddy bear out of it). It seems like moths could have dined on it; it is shedding a lot. Can it be taken care of or preserved in some way?
