What's a better deal? the $50 phone from Best Buy with $10 a month warranty or $150 phone from Verizon with $6 a month warranty and $50 deductible?

Someone I know is having a dilemma: Her husband bought her a $50 Samsung phone from Best Buy with $10 a month warranty. She went to Verizon store to have it programmed, and the guy at Verizon told her that Best Buy is known for bad service, and she should buy their phone (same exact phone except different color) for $150, with $6 a month warranty and $50 deductible. Is Best Buy really known for being bad? She understands that the Verizon guy had an objective, which is selling phones. She was previously happy with her husband’s gift, now she’s just confused.
