What are the sources of paper pulp?

Are there any statistics/data giving the amount of paper made from natural forests, plantations, recycled paper, etc.?
The reason I ask is to see a view other than the commonly accepted fact that paper is the doom of all trees. My speculation is that the demand of paper is directly (or somewhat) proportional to the number of trees planted on plantations.
I am open to any information. Thanks!
