Is there any way to put my computer on hold like I do with my mp3?

In this instance I spilled a drink on my keyboard and wanted to clean it without spending a lot of time securing my PC.

Something like an on/off button on the taskbar would be nice.

To be clear, this “button” would disable input until you pressed in a second time for example.
