Why do all hotel soaps smell the same?

I’ve stayed in very fancy hotels and cheap motels and the soap they provide always smells the same; and unlike any other perfume. Sometimes the soaps are basic little bars, sometimes shaped into fancy shapes and carry the brand names of big cosmetic companies: Neutrogena, etc. But the perfume is always “hotel soap” scent.
