Is Tramadol a dangerous drug?

I got a prescription of tramadol for my wisdom teeth. I’m pretty weird about putting chemicals in my body. I want to make sure I wont experience withdrawals or anything after I stop taking it. My sister had a drug abuse problem with Oxycontin and I saw what she went through getting off of it. i never want to experience anything like that.
