Should I call about this job or not?

Asked by tedibear (19315points) February 23rd, 2011

Last week I applied for a job. I emailed my resume’ and received a response the next day requesting pictures of my work. I forwarded those along with the requested times for phone interview availabilty. I heard back that evening (via email) that this person would call me on Monday as he was working from home, but we didn’t set a time. That was fine with me as I had said that I would be home all day. He was very enthusiastic in his email about talking with me and was complimentary about the pictures of my work.

As of 4:00PM on Monday, I hadn’t heard from him. I sent him an email, although I must say that I don’t know if he has work email access at home. I told him that he was welcome to call me up until 8:30 that evening or that we could make a lunchtime appointment on Wednesday or Thursday. I never heard anything from him.

It’s now 10:50AM on Wednesday and I’ve not heard anything. I checked my home email and there was nothing. My dilemma is that I don’t know if I should contact him again. Do I let it go and possibly miss a great opportunity? Do I contact him and take the chance of being annoying?
